Original Halo 3 gametype created by TenderBisquit, Halo 4 version made by R0CKET M00SE and updated with June matchmaking weapon tuning by Jesus in Malibu
Classic Clue V2.0
(6-16 players)
Classic Clue Ordinance V2.0 (Recommended for 6-10 players)

Brief Introduction:

Clue is a one life oddball gametype with honor rules that originated in Halo 3. It is very similar to the Garry's Mod game mode "Trouble in Terrorist Town." Clue is a game in which there is an invincible "God" player who holds an oddball and assigns one or two players as his/her "killers." These "killers" have to carefully go around the map and try to eliminate all the "civilians" without getting found out and killed themselves. The "civilians" are not allowed to commit any hostile action unless they see another player commit one. Further details below in "The Rules."

Heads up to Clue Hosts:

If you ever plan on hosting games of Clue, make sure everyone in your party knows how to play, and make sure everyone is in game chat. It is recommended that all players have working mics, to cut back on intermission time in the lobby. You can direct anyone who doesn't know how to play to this thread.

The Rules:
1. One player is assigned God, usually the Party leader when the lobby starts

2. God sends a text message to the two players (Only one player if there are fewer than 11 people in the lobby) he/she wishes to be the Killers in pre-game lobby, and in this text message he/she tells each killer who the other killer is. Ex. "Chuck and Xanon"

3. Killers send confirmation text messages to God. When God has received confirmation from both killers, "the eagle has landed," and the game can begin.

4. When the game begins, God has to pick up the oddball. The killers may not begin their murder spree until after God has picked up the oddball (this hides the kill announcements that would otherwise show up on your screen). God is then invincible. God plays the role of a moderator in this gametype and therefore should not kill anyone or die himself (many maps have kill boundaries). It is God's job to tell the party leader to end the game when the conditions have been met (see below). God can announce when one of the killers is dead, but just like everyone else, cannot give away any information that might give away the killer(s) still alive.

5. During the game, no one but the Killers are allowed to do anything violent (eg - fire weapons, charge chargeable weapons, swing hammers, swipe swords, throw grenades, melee a wall, etc.) except when under attack or if a violent action has been witnessed. Self defense is of course allowed. Scoping in with a binary rifle is not a hostile act, as it is just a form of zooming in. The killers must try to eliminate all civilians, and avoid killing each other.

6. If you have witnessed a killing and saw the gamertag of that killer when the murder occurred, you may attempt to take down that killer. You cannot tell anyone else the identity of the killer, you keep that to yourself. Also, if you see someone leaving a scene where a murder has just taken place, you cannot assume he/she is the killer, even though it may be quite obvious that he/she is the killer. You will need to witness him/her committing a hostile act before you can take action against him/her. If someone is on an announced killing spree, then you are free to kill him/her.

7. No one may announce any information that might compromise the Killer's identity (eg - weapon used, name, etc.),

How the game ends and how the next God is determined:
- Both killers have been eliminated - the player who killed the last living killer will be the next God.
- The two killers successfully eliminated everyone else - a 1v1 takes place and the victor will be the next God.
- The time limit is up, a killer is still alive, and not everyone has been killed - generally the surviving killer is the next God, but house rules can apply here
The Three Roles in Clue once again for emphasis:
God
  • the moderator
  • chooses his/her two killers in the pre-game lobby and lets them know in the text message who their partner is
  • signifies when the game can start after receiving a confirmation message by the two killers
  • grabs the oddball and holds onto it the whole game
  • is invincible
  • doesn't kill anybody or fall to his/her death
  • signifies when the game can end
Killers
  • receive a message signifying that they are killers by God in the pre-game lobby
  • after receiving that message they have to each send a confirmation text message to God so that the game can begin
  • have to try and eliminate all the civilians but be careful not to kill one another, can pick up any weapons they find
  • if all civilians are dead they have to 1v1 to become the next God
Civilians
  • wander around the map without committing acts of aggression (killing, shooting, meleeing), can pick up any weapons they find
  • have the right to kill anyone who commits an act of aggression only if they positively saw the person (gamertag) committing the act
  • if all killers are dead then the civilian who killed the last killer becomes the next God
  • CANNOT make name/weapon callouts

Correction on the Classic Clue. I only helped. It was Rezix333 who made the map and deserves the credit. BTW one rule has been added and you may choose to use it in your lobby as host or not, I do because it's necessary. Scoping in with the binary rifle IS A ACT OF VIOLENCE. For those who cry about rules being added when needed, try telling me the rules have not been slightly altered between each Halo series. Gameplay changes and so do rules.

Okay. Thanks. Is the map on his fileshare or yours?
