Help With Level Design/Concept

As I referenced in my intro forum thread, I have had a desire to see Quake's DM3 remade in forge. After thinking about it; I decided to take a stab at it and have been having a lot of fun. I am running into an issue with building the floor for an open area. Pictured below is the area I'm having issue with. I am wanting to make the level above the lower one. I was layering 4x4 flat pieces together, but that is causing flickering among the pieces.

Can anyone offer any advise on what to do with this issue?

Thanks for clearing that up 7thseal, I actually found a workaround by flipping the bridge pieces. The map is shaping up!

i would try maybe using the seastack rocks and turning them on their sides if done right it can be really good in a small area like that. go to structure and then narural
